Are Midwest Earthquakes on the rise?

UPDATE- The U.S. Geological Survey in Boulder, Colo., indicated that around 10:53 p.m. Saturday, a 5.6-magnitude earthquake occurred approximately 45 miles east of Oklahoma City, with an epicenter four miles east of Sparks, Okla.

“It was felt across much of central and eastern Oklahoma, up through eastern Kansas.
The tremor was felt in both Ark City and Winfield, and as far away as Kansas City and Dallas, Texas.

Arkansas City police received numerous calls reporting the quake, but no reports of damage.

Butler County Emergency Management reported minor damage to a residence in the Rose Hill area, with details not yet known, according to the National Weather Service in Wichita.

The earthquake was felt at the NWS office there.

UPDATE- Tremors were felt in the Winfield area tonight at approx 10:45p.m.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A moderate earthquake early Saturday in central Oklahoma knocked pictures off walls and woke people and pets as it shook an area that stretched into Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Texas.”
